April through June, 2018
Thanks to a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, I was an artist-in-resident at the Sower Gallery. The grant was created to continue an outreach to seniors in care facilities through guided interact with art. I demonstrated the weaving process, showed pictures of tapestries from different cultures and periods of history, and provided hands-on experience with small tapestries. It was an amazing and fun experience to share my passion for art and tapestry.
In addition, I exhibited two of my art pieces in the Women's Voices Exhibition - the Seal Skin, Soul Skin tapestry and a Germain Greer silk screen print

"A new installation (at the Sower Gallery) is titled Women's Voices" and features artist Susan Gangsei who began weaving 20 years ago... Her tapestries all tell a story."
Jung Journal - Culture and Psyche
Summer 2017 Volume 11, Number 3
Susan Gangsei's tapestries are featured in the Jung Journal, in an article A Conversation with Susan Gangsei by Katherine Olivetti. Katherine discusses how the art of weaving has ancient roots that go back to classic stories such as the Iliad and the Odyssey. She then connects this to Susan's personal story and the development of her art.
